Off to a New Country

Thursday 16th January

Well it is time to say goodbye to Kate and Canberra, which is always sad, but we leave with a semi plan to meet up with her later in the year when she is coming over to Europe. So now we have to work out some timings and it potentially could be going to Slovenia or Greece.... what a choice!

We've had a brilliant time yet again, and seen some more of Canberra, but still have more to do if we come back.

Kate, I will miss our G&T's on the veranda, talking about travels and plans.
See you soon and the drinks are on us next time

We caught the coach again a 9am, which promptly deposited us a Sydney airport where we caught our flight to Auckland. It was a flight... what can you say. We arrived about 9.30pm and a taxi was waiting, what a star, and we arrived at our apartment by 10.30. Couldn't have been easier.

I had booked a studio for us over the internet, and got an email to say we had to dial a number into the key entrance and a key would pop down for us. Always a bit stressful at 10.30 at night in a strange city, but needless to say it all went perfectly.

What a great little apartment, the Waldorf apartments,  small, compact, but really good in a great area, 10 minutes walk down to the harbour. It has everything we need including washing machine. We are on the 16th floor with views from our little balcony over the city, stunning, but a bit scary looking down.  I am very impressed and would recommend it to anyone
coming over here.

Looking down the stairwell from the 16th floor, scary.  Hope I never have to walk
down them.  Looks a bit like a prison, but it is really very nice inside!
