Second Day in Sydney

Saturday 11th January Sydney

Our morning was spent down in The Rocks. We had breakfast in a small cafe that we've been too before and then padded around the craft market, they had some beautiful things and I could have spent a fortune there. I did point out a particularly nice silver bracelet, but Rod for some reason couldn't hear me and disappeared off into the crowd!

The Rocks is the oldest part of Sydney and there has been much work to renovate and save the old area.  It makes you realise just how hard it must of been for the people that went over, either of their own volition or in shackles.  No wonder so many of them didn't make it very long.

The afternoon was spent in the Botanical gardens, quite a trek round, but worth it, and them down the river front past the Opera House and back to the Hotel to lie down and cool.

                                                                    A walk in the park

We caught up with some friends in the evening, Carolyn and Martin. Initially thought we would have drinks in the Opera Bar. But so did about 5,000 other beautiful people, so gave up and went round to Cockle Bay instead. We ended up in a Rib Shack, where Rod decided to overdose on protein. I knew it was a bad idea, but since when does he listen to me.

Fireworks in Cockle Bay every Saturday night.. Brilliant!

A great night was had by all, thanks C &M again for you hospitality. We came back to the hotel and Rod lay on the bed groaning that he was too full to sleep! It's gone be a long night.
