Havelock to Motueka

Saturday 15th – Havelock to Motueka

We carried on further towards the Abel Tasman National Park, stopping at the city of Nelson for the bank and a coffee, and then continued up the coast road to a small town called Moteuka just before the Abel Tasman.

The whole area is covered in orchards, plum, apples, apricots and pears, plus lots of hops.  It was so green and lush everywhere.

It was here that I drove the most hair raising mountain pass to date. Mile after mile of bendy roads, I was very brave.

We booked into our campsite and then went for a walk, which turned into a very looooong walk, my feet were dropping off when we got back, but had armfuls of plums and pears....

Unfortunately the camp site had lots of 'young things', all there fruit picking.  Obviously they had never been trained to clean up after themselves, and the kitchen was disgusting.  We were thinking of staying for two nights here, but decided to move on tomorrow instead.

Not much else to report today, the sun shone  and the scenery was lovely.
