Back to Picton and the voyage back North

Monday 17th February

Okiwi Bay decided to remind me that being in paradise has some downsides, when I woke up with 4 huge bites on my leg and 3 on my arms.... it wanted to give me something to remind me of it.. probably my faults for not covering myself in chemical warfare.  Also I forgot to tell you that whilst eating my pasta last night, one of my crowns fell out.  Yes I am officially falling to bits.  So I stuck it back and hope I don't swallow before getting to a dentist.

We left Okiwi and headed back over the road of doom, in fact it didn't seem quite so bad going back, but then Rod thankfully offered to drive it and I just closed my eyes during the squiggily bits. At last we reached the other side and the lovely hills.

We stopped off for coffee in Havelock again, and then headed down the Queen Charlotte Pass to Picton, and what a lovely drive, beautiful.

Driving the Queen Charlottes pass was lovely, it had lovely houses overlooking lakes and bays, and you slowly came down from the hills to Picton.  What a lovely place to live.

After checking in at Picton, the owner booked me an appointment with the dentist, and $270 later (eeek!) my tooth was firmly put back in place.

Picton is tiny and we wandered around town in the afternoon, had a beer in the local Irish Pub! in the evening and ate at home.  Very pretty place, and quiet as usual.
